Bao feng Bio-technology (Beijing) Ltd, a leading provider of comprehensive brain health solutions in China, has achieved significant research breakthroughs in Nervonic acid. The research conducted by scientific team has yielded multiple achievements, including advancements in alcohol detoxification, gut microbiota metabolism, and protein disorder diagnosis, resulting in several new breakthrough products.
Breakthrough 1: Two National Patents for Cerebral White Matter Disease
The research team at Bao Feng Biotechnology (Beijing) Co., Ltd. has obtained two national invention patents related to cerebral white matter disease. These patents are titled "Biological Biomarker F3 for Diagnosing Cerebral White Matter Lesions and Its Application" (Patent No.: ZL2021103859479) and "Biological Biomarker for Diagnosing Cerebral White Matter Lesions and Its Application" (Patent No.: ZL2021103529356). Both patents protect the use of different forms of Nervonic acid molecules as core biomarkers for assisting in diagnosing cerebral white matter diseases.
Dr. Chen Xianyang, an expert in developmental biology from the Chinese Academy of Sciences, leads the research and development team at Bao Feng Biotech. Together with numerous young talents in the fields of clinical medicine, biology, and other disciplines, they have been actively exploring the realm of brain health for many years. Their efforts have resulted in multiple national invention patents. So far, Bao Feng Biotechnology has obtained an impressive total of 19 patents in the field of brain health, a remarkable achievement within the entire brain health industry.

Breakthrough 2: Bao Feng Acer Truncatum Seed Oil May Impact Intestinal flora and Metabolites
Recently, the research team at Bao Feng Biotechnology published an article titled "The Impact of Bao Feng Acer Truncatum seed oil Dietary Supplementation on Gut Microbiota and Metabolites in Rats" in the prestigious Chinese core journal of the food industry, the "Journal of Chinese Cereals and Oils." This journal is publicly distributed both domestically and internationally and is supervised by the China Association for Science and Technology, with sponsorship from the Chinese Cereals and Oils Society. It serves as a high-end platform for researchers and institutions to exchange the forefront and latest achievements in cereal and oil technology.
Scientific research indicates that Bao Feng Acer Truncatum seed oil is a high-quality edible vegetable oil. It is rich in unsaturated fatty acids and contains rare Nervonic acid (nervonic acid, C24:1), which fills the gap of edible oils containing Nervonic acid in our country. The gut microbiota constitutes the body's largest microbial ecosystem, significantly influencing substance and energy metabolism. The gut-brain axis is a bidirectional communication network between the gut microbiota, the intestines, and the brain, which regulates the immune, gastrointestinal, and central nervous system functions through interactions involving inflammation and the endocrine system. Dietary fatty acid intake plays a crucial role in shaping the composition of the microbial community.
To understand the potential effects of Bao Feng Acer Truncatum seed oil intake on gut microbiota and the gut-brain axis, the research team at Bao Feng Biotechnology employed 16S rDNA sequencing technology combined with lipidomics to conduct comprehensive analysis of the gut microbiota and fecal metabolites of rats on the first and seventh day after ingesting Bao Feng Acer Truncatum seed oil.
The results showed that the intake of Bao Feng Acer Truncatum seed oil did not affect the diversity of the microbiota but had a significant impact on its structure. The abundance of the phylum Bacteroidetes increased, while that of Firmicutes decreased in the treated group. Fecal lipidomics identified 9 significantly altered metabolites as potential biomarkers. Among these, the continuously changing metabolite PC(24:1/16:0) was significantly positively correlated with Lactobacillus, Bacteroides, and Prevotella_ UCG-001 on the first and seventh days, and significantly negatively correlated with Romboutsia, Ruminococcus_ UCG-013, Ruminococcus_ UCG-014, and Lachnoclostridium_ NK4A136_group.
These significantly altered gut microbiota have been widely associated with neurodegenerative diseases, depression, and other related conditions in previous reports. The current study discovered that Bao Feng Acer Truncatum seed oil possesses the ability to regulate and improve gut microbiota and metabolites, potentially exerting a protective effect on the nervous system through the gut-brain axis. This finding provides a theoretical reference for the future development of pharmaceutical interventions targeting gut microbiota-related disorders.
Breakthrough 3: New Discovery! Bao Feng Acer Truncatum Seed Oil Opens up New Insights into Alcohol Detoxification
Recently, the research team at Bao Feng Biotechnology (Beijing) Co., Ltd. published an article titled "Lipid, Nutrient Composition, and Alcohol Detoxification Evaluation of Bao Feng Acer Truncatum Seed Extract" in the international journal "Journal of Food and Nutrition Research" (Chinese name: 食品与营养研究杂志). This publication has attracted widespread attention from experts and scholars both domestically and internationally in the field of food and nutrition.
The article explores the lipid and nutrient composition of Bao Feng Acer Truncatum seed extract and evaluates its potential alcohol detoxification properties. The findings have the potential to unveil new perspectives and approaches for addressing issues related to alcohol detoxification.
As widely known, alcohol holds significant social importance, but excessive drinking can lead to adverse symptoms such as dizziness, nausea, vomiting, and liver damage. The oxidation of alcohol in the body leads to the formation of reactive oxygen species and changes in the body's antioxidant defense system, thereby triggering oxidative stress, which can cause various adverse reactions and even diseases, especially cardiovascular diseases. Studies have indicated that moderate alcohol consumption may also be associated with negative outcomes such as hippocampal atrophy and cognitive decline.
Given that alcohol affects many neurological functions, including its toxic and addictive properties, its impact on the brain is considered more significant than on other organ systems. Currently, there are relatively few cases of using lipids for alcohol detoxification. In order to understand the alcohol detoxification effect of Bao Feng Acer Truncatum seed oil, the research team at Bao Feng Biotechnology first conducted fatty acid profiling and physicochemical testing on the oil, confirming its quality compliance with national standards and its stable properties. The oil was found to be rich in unsaturated fatty acids, mainly glycerides, with a high content of nervonic acid, reaching up to 8%. Additionally, for the first time in this study, the Bao Feng Biotechnology team quantified the flavonoid content in the oil, which was determined to be 3.51%.
Furthermore, in an animal intoxication model, the research team at Bao Feng Biotechnology conducted pre-protective interventions on rats using Bao Feng Acer Truncatum seed oil alone or in combination with natural products known for their alcohol detoxification effects, such as kudzu root and soybean powder. The results revealed that Bao Feng Acer Truncatum seed oil significantly improved the rats' motor coordination ability, while the combination of kudzu root and soybean powder further enhanced their learning and memory capabilities. However, when Bao Feng Acer Truncatum seed oil was combined with kudzu root, it did not produce any alcohol detoxification effect in the motor coordination and platform tests, indicating a possible antagonistic effect between the two substances.
In conclusion, Bao Feng Acer Truncatum seed oil has a clear alcohol detoxification effect, mainly attributed to the composition of its fatty acids and its ability to inhibit oxidative stress. The development of combination products involving Bao Feng Acer Truncatum seed oil and other substances for alcohol detoxification is worth exploring, although caution should be exercised regarding potential antagonistic effects. Additionally, the biological pathways underlying the alcohol detoxification effect of Bao Feng Acer Truncatum seed oil still require further exploration.
